Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14 declared holiday


The Central Government has decided to declare April 14, 2011, Thursday, as a closed holiday on account of the birthday of Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, for all its offices, including industrial establishments, throughout India.
The holiday is also being notified in exercise of powers conferred by Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 (26 of 1881), an official press release added.
